I have always thought about how to give a precise stylistic character to my photographs. A very recognizable language and a structured poetics that is at the same time in progress. A photography to which I can also entrust my personal becoming. I have experimented with different methods and techniques. The photographs of Milan characterized by the dynamism of the city. The city seen as a place where consumerism dominates and again the object as a place of artistic research around man, society and the environment (Light and Night) . I felt that I had to move away from photography and then return to it. But how? And here are the first experiments around the idea of merging photography with painting: the pictorial color could define my state of mind and could give the photo the originality I was looking for. Thus were born the first prints with drops of tempera aimed at simulating a fertilization between the two artistic techniques. But it was not enough: I wanted the final result to be a photograph. With the technical devices that seemed most suitable to me, I photographed the painted print and arrived at a final result of photography that merges with painting. A new language called “Pattern Of Media” . No technique predominates. If the photo defines a fragment of reality, painting enhances and defines the meaning. I have insisted on this path for several years and only recently have I felt the need for a change. With today’s “Transfiguration” the fusion between photography and painting, that will remain present in my artistic becoming, is accompanied by pure photography without material additions or software aimed at producing elaborations, even if it is noticeable that the camera has been used as a paintbrush.
